OOP Recant
The output of OOP, especially the album Crown of Thorns, contains much material that is blasphemous or otherwise celebrative of sin. We have suppressed the worst of this material at its source and are in the process of suppressing derivative instantiations of it, while also re-examining the rest of our corpus to see if more songs require suppression.
I deeply regret having created such offensive material, chiefly because it insults the most holy trinity, but also because it could possibly have influenced the thinking of impressionable people and led them astray. Bishop Morrow writes, “A public scandal must be repaired in a public manner.” The statement you are now reading is my attempt to fulfill that obligation.
I apologize to God and to OOP’s listeners. If you are a person who moved in the direction of atheism as a direct or indirect consequence of OOP’s irreligious example, please reconsider and repent. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no salvation outside of him.
